Leah Miriam Persky

Professional Biography

Leah's specialization is in gender, comparative politics, policy making and health & social policies. She received her PhD from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee in 2013. Current research focuses on exploring how the social construction of gender impacts policymaking and health outcomes in the United States and Western Europe. Other research and teaching interests include global health, human rights in the Americas and gender & development. Prior to receiving her PhD Leah worked with several Denver area non-profits in research and grant-writing capacities and she has conducted research on human rights and policing in Belize and policymaking and gender in the US and UK.
