Michael Stopford is the Chairman of ANCORED, a global Strategic Communications company and a Visiting Professor from IULM University Milan and UM6P Rabat.
Michael’s career has spanned intergovernmental organizations and multinational companies. After UK Diplomatic Service, Michael joined United Nations and served in the Office of the Secretary-General in New York, Chief of Staff of UN Office in Geneva, and Director of UN Washington Office. Then he joined World Bank as Head of External Relations, International Finance Corporation. Most recently, Michael works as the Assistant Secretary-General for Strategic Communications with NATO in Brussels, also heading Alliance’s Science for Peace and Security Program.
In the private sector, Michael led Global Public Affairs for agribusiness multinational Syngenta; International Affairs with ExxonMobil; and Global Corporate Reputation for The Coca-Cola Company. Later, he headed Global Corporate Strategy at public affairs firm Weber Shandwick, Washington, D.C and has recently served as the Managing Director, Oxford Analytica.
Michael was Assistant Vice Chancellor International at University of Nebraska and headed International Affairs at American University in Washington, DC. Graduate of Oxford University.
