The ICRS Latin America Center (LAC) supports and coordinates educational, research, policy and cultural activities related to Latin America and international relations between North and South America. The LAC core faculty, staff, and students work to connect the various individuals and organizations on campus that are pursuing research, education and cultural activities related to Latin America. The goal of these efforts is to provide comprehensive training for DU students and faculty.
Colorado is in the heart of the American West and has historic ties to different parts of Latin America. Denver also boasts vibrant Native American and Latino communities and is home to consulates of Mexico, Guatemala and Peru. The Center continues to build on this historic and geographic connection by maintaining an active research agenda on contemporary issues in Denver and in the Latin American region.

El Centro promueve y coordina actividades de investigación, política, educación y cultura relacionadas a América Latina y las relaciones internacionales entre Norte y Sur América. El Centro, sus académicos, el personal y sus estudiantes trabajan para conectar a los individuos y organizaciones en el recinto universitario que llevan a cabo investigaciones, actividades educativas y culturales relacionadas a Latinoamérica. The Latin America Center at ICRS is the Korbel School’s hub for scholarship and events on Latin America. 2020 has presented numerous new challenges for the world, from the Coronavirus to racial injustice to inequality and governance. The Latin America Center continues to educate on and raise awareness about these critical issues. This year we are running a new speaker series on Health and Race in the Americas to bring expert perspectives from Latin America and the DU community.
