What I do

I teach courses in international studies and research topics related to state security forces, private military and security companies, and nonviolent political contention.

Professional Biography

I graduated from Augustana University with my BA and majored in Government/International Affairs. I then attended the University of Denver to complete both my MA and PhD in International Studies. During that time, I worked as a Research Fellow with the Sie Center and was awarded a fellowship by the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict. Today I teach in the Korbel undergraduate program and am a Sie-affiliated faculty member.
