The Korbel School’s partnership with the Geneva Graduate Institute offers a transformative opportunity for 4-5 highly qualified Korbel graduate students each year. Located in the heart of Geneva, Switzerland the Institute is a world leader in global affairs education, with a legacy of producing diplomats, UN leaders, and Nobel laureates. As a pioneer in the study of global issues, the Institute fosters critical and creative thinking on international relations, development, and governance.

Participants will take two graduate-level courses and complete a self-secured internship at an international organization, NGO, or multinational firm—gaining hands-on experience in one of the world’s top hubs for diplomacy and governance.

Consistently ranked among the top five universities in Brazil and the 21st best in Latin America (QS World University Rankings), PUC-Rio is internationally recognized for its research, teaching, and global engagement excellence.

Participants will take courses equivalent to Korbel School credits while immersing themselves in Rio’s dynamic academic and cultural environment. A core component of the program is a self-secured internship, with PUC-Rio assisting students in connecting with opportunities at international organizations, NGOs, or think tanks.

The Korbel School’s partnership with the Diplomatic Academy of the Vienna School of International Studies offers a prestigious opportunity for 4-5 graduate students per year to study at the world's oldest professional school for international affairs. Renowned for preparing global leaders, the Academy boasts a distinguished faculty of diplomats, policymakers, and scholars, providing students with direct insights into international diplomacy.

Participants will take 3-4 graduate-level elective courses, earning Korbel credit while engaging in subjects like international relations, law, economics, and political science. An optional internship at a Vienna-based international organization, NGO, or multinational firm allows students to gain hands-on experience while earning additional credit. Plus, as visiting students, participants also have full access to the Academy’s events, services, and resources.

The Korbel School’s Washington, D.C. Program offers 10 graduate students each year the opportunity to spend a semester in the heart of U.S. policymaking. Participants typically take two academic classes in the evenings while completing a 20-30 hour/week internship during the day, gaining firsthand experience in the dynamic political and policy environment of the nation’s capital.

This program is offered in partnership with the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs—both nationally recognized for their excellence in public affairs and international policy. Students who participate in this program will benefit from the strong reputations, extensive alumni networks, and career resources of both institutions throughout this exciting program.

The Korbel School’s partnership with O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) Program offers three graduate students each year the opportunity to study at one of India’s top-ranked private universities. Participants enroll in graduate-level elective courses across JGU’s 12 interdisciplinary schools during the fall semester, earning Korbel-equivalent credits while immersing themselves in India’s dynamic academic and cultural environment.

It boasts a truly international learning experience, with faculty from over 50 countries, students from 75+ nations, and partnerships with 500+ universities worldwide. Participants enroll in courses from the Master of Public Policy or Master of International Affairs programs, earning credits that transfer back to Korbel while gaining firsthand experience in Berlin’s dynamic policy environment.

Founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, the Hertie School is a state-accredited private university recognized for its interdisciplinary, practice-oriented approach. With a strong emphasis on governance, policy analysis, and global affairs, it serves as a hub for public debate and engagement, bringing together policymakers, academics, and professionals from around the world.

The Korbel School’s partnership with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) provides three graduate students annually the opportunity to study at one of Africa’s leading institutions for governance, economics, and social sciences. Participants enroll in courses in Political Science or Global Affairs, earning credits that can be transferred back to Korbel.

Located in Morocco, UM6P is a hub for research and education focused on public policy, governance, and social sciences with a strong emphasis on Africa’s development and global challenges. Through its Faculty of Governance, Economics, and Social Sciences (FGSES), Public Policy School (PPS), and Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS), UM6P fosters critical thinking, policy innovation, and real-world problem-solving.

The Korbel School’s partnership with the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey provides three master’s students annually with the opportunity to study at one of Latin America’s premier institutions for public policy, economics, and data science.

Founded in 1943, Tec de Monterrey is a top private university recognized for its commitment to innovation, leadership, and social impact. As a non-profit, independent institution, it advances higher education and contributes to Mexico’s development through research, policy engagement, and scholarship opportunities.

Through this exchange program, Korbel students can enroll in courses within the Master of Public Policy, Master of Applied Economics, or Master of Data Science and Public Policy programs and any earned credits can be transferred back to Korbel, provided they meet degree requirements.
