Ahmed Mohamed Abdrabou

Teaching Associate Professor

Associate Director, Center for Middle East Studies

Dr. Ahmed Abdrabou, a Teaching Associate Professor of International and Area Studies at Korbel, is deeply engaged in research that is highly relevant to our current global context. He obtained his degrees in Political Science from academic institutions in Egypt and Japan. His research and teaching focus on democratization, security, and development in the Middle East and East Asia.

In addition to many articles and papers published in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Abdrabou has published three books in English and Arabic on the topics of Civil-Military and Civil-Security Relations in the Middle East and the History of Modern Egypt. He also has a weekly column in the Egyptian Daily "Al-Shourouk."

A former tenured faculty member at Cairo University and a part-time faculty member at the American University in Cairo, Dr. Abdrabou Joined Korbel School in January 2015, and since then, he has served in different positions; as of 2024, He has been the Director of the U.S-Japan Diplomacy Program and the Associate Director of the Center for Middle East Studies. He also represents Korbel at the DU Faculty Senate and the Internationalization Council, in addition to his membership in the Korbel Faculty Council.
