Sachin Desai

Teaching Associate Professor

Sachin Desai is a Teaching Associate Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (JKSIS) at the University of Denver. He has been teaching and coordinating the graduate quantitative methods curriculum at JKSIS since 2012. At JKSIS, he develops and teaches core and elective graduate courses in statistics, econometrics, statistical computing and data visualization. He teaches wonderful students studying in fantastic JKSIS programs such as development, economic affairs, environmental sustainability, global health, human rights, international studies, public policy and security. He has extensive experience with in-person as well as online teaching.

Prior to joining Korbel, Sachin taught at the Daniels College of Business (Department of Business Intelligence and Analytics & Reiman School of Finance) at the University of Denver from 2004 to 2012. At Daniels, he developed and taught core and elective graduate and undergraduate courses in statistics, finance, data analytics and operations research.

Sachin was born and raised in Mumbai (Bombay), India before moving to the US for graduate studies in 1999. His projects and interests incorporate various aspects of data science such as statistical analysis, programming, visualization and machine learning, as well as computational finance, financial modeling and decision analysis.
