Barry Hughes Makes Connections in Forecasting Community, Vienna

Dr. Barry Hughes, Founding Director, and Janet Dickson, research consultant and analyst for the Pardee Center, have recently returned from three weeks of working vacation in Vienna. Dr. Hughes gave initial seminars at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the Wittgenstein Centre, both premiere long-term forecasting organizations. He followed each presentation by meeting with groups and individuals, including Dr. Pavel Kabat, the Director General of IIASA.

The purpose of these meetings was to expose these organizations to the IFs model and the work of the Pardee Center, to learn more about the work of each organization to aid the writing of Barry’s sabbatical-year book, and to discuss future connections between the organizations.
