The Pardee Institute welcomes NEPAD’s Gengezi Mgidlana for Visit and Event
The Frederick S. Pardee Institute is delighted to host Gengezi Mgidlana, Director of Strategy and Knowledge Management for the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School for two weeks.
Mgidlana has been working with the Pardee Institute staff to continue to build NEPAD's forecasting and analysis capacity through the International Futures modeling system.
On Thursday, October 31, he gave a presentation on Agenda 2063, the African Union's strategy for the next 50 years of development. He spoke of the hopefulness of Africa, which is now home to seven of the 10 fastest-growing countries worldwide, and set out the Agenda 2063 framework some goals for the continent, including inclusive growth, improved productive capacities, industrialization, and sustainability. In addition, Mgidlana spoke with enthusiasm about working with the Pardee Institute and the International Futures model, stating that IFs provides a heightened level of analysis.
