UNDP’s Human Development Report 2013 features IFs forecasts

On March 14, the United Nations Development Programme released its annual Human Development Report, “The Rise of the South: Human Progress in a Diverse World.” The Pardee Center contributed significantly to Chapter 4 of the report, titled “Sustaining Momentum,” which forecasts ongoing development trends. Graphics from IFs forecasts were also included in the volume’s introductory material, the concluding chapter, and the report’s overall look at the evolving role of the South in the global system. According to the UNDP, the report used IFs for “long-term human development projections based on closely interacting policy-related issues, including income, health, education, poverty, gender, social change (instability and risk) and environmental sustainability.” Barry Hughes and the IFs team also contributed to the UNDP’s 2011 Human Development Report.
