This paper seeks to demonstrate how pre-Communist political-economic conditions varied across three Ukrainian regions, and despite changes in regime type (monarchy, totalitarian, democracy) each region maintained these conditions leading to different outcomes following the Party of Regions’ 2014 collapse.
