The Emperor has no Clothes: Ebola and its Effects on Governance in Liberia
The Global Health Affairs and Humanitarian Assistance Programs at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies will welcome Sabrina Karim for a discussion on how the weak Liberian governance structure exacerbated the Ebola epidemic in that country. The discussion will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Karim is a PhD candidate in political science at Emory University and an expert on peace building, peace keeping, gender and security. Her dissertation focuses on the effects of police reforms on community trust in post-conflict Liberia. She is co-author of Equal Opportunity Peacekeeping: The Need for Gender Equality in the Search for Quality Peace, under review by Oxford and Cambridge University Presses.
