Josef Korbel School's Center for China-US Cooperation Named Among the Top 100 China Studies Centers in the World

The Journal of Overseas Sinology/China Studies, published in Beijing, announced the Josef Korbel School's Center for China-US Cooperation as one of the top China studies research institutes outside of mainland China. Among the 100 research institutes and centers included in the survey, 19 are from Asia, 34 from Europe and 46 from North America. The Korbel School's Center for US-China Cooperation (CCUSC) ranks among the most prestigious China centers in the world, including the Fairbank Center at Harvard University and the University of Chicago's Center for East Asian Studies.

The ranking is a source of pride for the Josef Korbel School and the staff at the Center for China-US Cooperation. "We are very humbled to be included as one of the 100 leading China studies centers among thousands of China studies centers in the world," said Dr. Suisheng Zhao, the founder and executive director of CCUSC.

CCUSC promotes mutual understanding between the people of China and the United States through forums, conferences, and other programs. The CCUSC is dedicated to facilitating understanding of the changes in the political, economic, legal, social, and cultural landscape of China. The Center serves as a bridge in the search for mutual understanding between Chinese and American people. To accomplish its mission, CCUSC holds public lectures where prominent speakers discuss China-US relations, arranges annual conferences organized around current and timely themes, hosts visiting scholars to foster academic exchanges, and publishes the Journal of Contemporary China, an internationally regarded publication of modern China.
