Scholarships
Our students fund their studies through aid offered directly from Korbel, loans, scholarships and part-time employment. At Korbel, we're proud to offer a variety of awards that help relieve financial burden and bolster your academic credibility. We also partner with a number of programs and organizations dedicated to federal service.
Undergraduate Awards
We use a variety of sources to help supplement the cost of your DU education, including grants, scholarships, loans and Work-Study awards. Your academic profile and financial need will both factor into the type and amount of financial aid you receive as an undergraduate.

Merit Scholarships
Degree-seeking master's applicants who pursue full-time studies are automatically considered for competitive, merit-based aid during the review process. There is no separate application. Simply apply by the priority deadline of January 15 for best consideration.
90% of students that apply by the priority deadline receive Korbel aid.

Yellow Ribbon Program
The Korbel School is proud to be a participant in the Department of Veterans Affairs Yellow Ribbon Program, and eligible veterans and their dependents can attend master’s studies tuition-free. The University’s Office of Veterans Services is also here to support the transition to graduate school.

Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program
Korbel has long had one of the largest Returning Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) populations in the country, and we are proud of our 19-year partnership with the Coverdell Fellows program.
We are also pleased to offer special accommodations to qualified RPCVs. All eligible RPCVs who are admitted to a Korbel master's program will receive:
- A waiver of the application fee
- An minimum scholarship of $24,000 ($12,000 per year)
- If desired, a reduction in required internship hours from 150 to 75 as needed for degree completion

Segal AmeriCorps Education Award
Admitted master's applicants who hold the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award receive a dollar-for-dollar matching scholarship from Korbel.

Fulbright Program
The Korbel School works with offices around the globe to offer scholarship funds to Fulbright Fellows. For more information, please contact the Office of Graduate Enrollment at korbeladm@du.edu.

Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship
The Korbel School will waive the application fee and cover the difference between fellowship tuition funds and the cost of tuition for any Pickering Fellow admitted to a master’s program at the School.
Confirmed finalists who did not receive a Pickering Fellowship are eligible for a Korbel scholarship that covers up to 50% of the annual cost of tuition.

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program
The Korbel School will waive the application fee and cover the difference between fellowship tuition funds and the cost of tuition for any Rangel Fellow admitted to a master’s program at the School.
Confirmed finalists who did not receive a Rangel Fellowship are eligible for a Korbel scholarship that covers up to 50% of the annual cost of tuition.

Donald M. Payne Fellowship Program
The Korbel School will waive the application fee and cover the difference between fellowship tuition funds and the cost of tuition for any Payne Fellow admitted to a master’s program at the School.
Confirmed finalists who did not receive a Payne Fellowship are eligible for a Korbel scholarship that covers up to 50% of the annual cost of tuition.
