Gendered analysis of the impact of climate change on poverty, productivity and food insecurity

The Frederick S. Pardee Institute for International Futures partnered with UN Women to provide the long-term scenario modeling behind A Gendered Analysis of the Impact of Climate Change, Poverty, Productivity, and Food Insecurity. Using the International Futures (IFs) model, Pardee researchers examined how climate change may deepen existing gender inequalities through its effects on poverty, agricultural productivity, and food security. The analysis highlights how gender-responsive investments in education, social protection, and climate resilience can help reduce disparities and strengthen progress toward sustainable development, demonstrating the value of integrated futures modeling for evidence-based policymaking.
