With Sié Center faculty and policy community mentors, post-doctoral fellows conduct their own research and contribute to collaborative research efforts designed to inform (and be informed by) contemporary policy concerns and strategies.
Sié Center & Oxfam America Joint Postdoctoral Fellow
The Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies and Oxfam America are proud to host this innovative, joint post-doctoral scholar program.
The goal of this position is to serve as a bridge between the two organizations through collaborative research on policy-relevant questions related to more equitable and sustainable economic models.
Odmaa Narantungalag is our 2022 - 2024 Sié Chéou-Kang and Oxfam America postdoctoral fellow from Mongolia. She has recently completed her Ph.D. in Economics from Massey University in New Zealand, and her research interests are in natural resource economics, energy, and development economics. Odmaa holds a Master’s degree in international development from Tsinghua University in China and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from American University in Bulgaria. She previously worked at the Ministry of Finance in Mongolia for various projects implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, World Bank, and United Nations Environment Programme.
Global Justice Postdoctoral Fellow
The Global Justice postdoctoral fellow will support the Inclusive Global Leadership Initiative (IGLI) at the Korbel School by teaching one graduate course per year in the new Global Justice certificate program. This scholar will be in residence at the University of Denver for two full academic years, under the mentorship and supervision of Professor Marie Berry.
Alice Taylor is our 2023-2025 Global Justice Postdoc Fellow. She completed her PhD in Education at University of California, Berkeley, with a designated emphasis in Gender & Women's Studies. An interdisciplinary scholar and ethnographer, her dissertation examined contemporary Brazilian youth movements. Broadly, she studies how people come together to envision and enact social change and focuses on youth and political engagement, the role of education in social movements including across digital and in-person spaces, and interconnections between local and global/transnational structures of oppression and resistance. Alice's work has been supported by Fulbright-Hays, and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. She holds a Master's in International Affairs from the Fletcher School, Tufts University, and worked and consulted for over ten years with non-profit and international organizations such as Action Aid, Promundo (now Equimundo), UN agencies such as UN-Habitat and UNFPA, and The Feinstein International Center at Tufts University.
