Today, the Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures celebrated a momentous milestone in the organization's decades-long history at the University of Denver. The Pardee Center has been designated as a Research Institute in the inaugural cohort of research institutes here at DU. Joined by our colleagues in research and academic administration, Pardee entered a select group of other institutes at the University who are doing advanced, high-profile, and far-reaching research that is heavily funded by external engagements.

This designation affirms Pardee's place at DU as a serious contributor to the Institution's body of research and impact on its community and constituents.

This achievement is shared among Pardee's founding and early members, including Professor Emeritus and Founding Director, Barry Hughes, who conceived and implemented core instruments and practices that underlie most of our research; to the students, staff, and faculty who support and enrich our research; to the Korbel and DU service units who champion and advance our work; and to our fellow DU research institutes and centers whose efforts and accomplishments make DU's R1 status possible. Pardee's ability to reach this milestone is also unequivocally attributed to the generosity of its benefactor and namesake, Frederick S. Pardee.

Pardee receives this distinction with honor, humility, and gratitude.
