December 01, 2020
This report summarizes the data, research and policy work produced by UN Women on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women and girls, including how it is affecting extreme poverty, employment, health, unpaid care and violence against women and girls. It also brings into focus the paucity of gender data, calls for greater investment and prioritization of data on the gendered effects of the crisis, and concludes with policy recommendations to address the ongoing and emerging crises. This report utilizes Pardee Center research to show estimates on extreme poverty by sex and age.
