Global Economic Affairs is not your grandparents’ economic program. We’ve eliminated the dazzling but ultimately useless economic proofs you find in the textbooks and focus instead on the way economies actually work. Global Economic Affairs focuses on political economy—the fascinating and complex interactions between economics, politics, and policy. In the program, students are prepared to make sense of today's most pressing and complex economic challenges.
Addressing the global challenges posed by a changing environment, natural resource depletion, and increased demands on our food, water, and energy resources is one of the defining tasks of the 21st century. Our MA in Global Environmental Sustainability helps students understand the causes and consequences of global change, inform strategies for action, and prepare for impactful and meaningful careers.
This program emphasizes the need for broad-based, environmentally and socially sustainable economic growth that generates meaningful employment opportunities. Our international security program has evolved to prepare students to enter an increasingly complex security environment.
